Ms Bridgette Mogoje

Bridgette Mogoje
Bridgette Mogoje joined the Student Division in 2019, under the subcommittee of Societies, and continued her service under the position of Additional Executive Committee member. Bridgette has been appointed the Chairperson for the upcoming tenure.
Bridgette is currently studying towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Counselling at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She obtained her degree in Human Societal Dynamics from the University of the Free State and studied an Honours degree with UNISA. She is passionate about community work and currently holds a position as a Social Mobiliser for Soul City Institute for Social Justice in the Free State.
Student Division Vice-Chairperson
Ms Maryam Gangat

Maryam Gangat
Maryam Gangat initially joined the PsySSA Student Division as a mentee within the National Mentorship Programme where she was awarded the Personal Growth Award. Currently within the PsySSA Student Division, Maryam holds the position of Chairperson of the Research into Student Empowerment Subcommittee. Maryam is the appointed Vice-Chairperson for the PsySSA SD’s upcoming tenure.
Maryam is a psychology honours graduate at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She is a former student of the North West University where she completed her undergraduate degree, majoring in psychology and physiology. Maryam is an aspiring Clinical Psychologist, she currently works in the special needs education field.
Student Division Secretary
Ms Britney Bengtson

Britney Bengtson
Britney Bengtson joined PsySSA Student Division in 2021, holding the position of Co-Secretariat. Britney is the appointed Secretary for PsySSA Student Divisions upcoming tenure. She is enthusiastic to contribute to PsySSA SD as she understands the importance of the work done by the SD for student enrichment in psychology.
Britney completed her undergrad degree majoring in psychology and communication science in 2020. She is currently completing her honours in psychology and thereafter will be working towards obtaining a Masters in counselling psychology. Britney has always had a passion for the youth of South Africa, by volunteering at different youth-centred organisations.
Student Division Treasurer
Ms Genevieve Burrow

Genevieve Burrow
Genevieve Burrow has been an Executive with the PsySSA Student Division since 2018. Initially, Genevieve was an Additional Executive Committee Member before serving a tenure as the Vice-chairperson. Genevieve has been appointed the Treasurer for the PsySSA SD’s upcoming tenure. She holds the position as Vice-chairperson of PsySSA’s Division for Registered Counselling and Psychometry.
Genevieve completed her undergraduate degree at UNISA, majoring in Psychology and Criminology, cum laude. She is currently a Student Registered Counsellor completing her BSocSci Honours degree at the South African College of Applied Psychology. Genevieve has an interest in: the relationship between criminality and trauma, addiction recovery for affected families, and uplifting communities in under-resourced areas.
Additional Members
Mr Manase Matlala

Manase Matlala
Manase Matlala joined PsySSA Student Division in 2021 as a subcommittee member. He currently has been appointed the position of Additional Member within PsySSA Student Division for the upcoming tenure. He is currently employed as a tutor at the University of Limpopo.
He graduated from the University of Limpopo where he completed his undergraduate degree majoring in psychology and criminology, as well as his honours degree majoring in psychology. Manase is accepted to study masters in clinical psychology at University of Limpopo in 2022. He is interested in working within community settings, with diverse cultural groups.
Mr Daniel Bode

Daniel Bode
Daniel Bode initially volunteered in the Media & Marketing subcommittee within the PsySSA Student Division for 2021. Daniel has been appointed as the Additional Member for PsySSA Student Divisions upcoming tenure.
Daniel is a BA Honours graduate in psychology from the Nelson Mandela University. He is interested in psychological disorders, as well as educating individuals providing them with the necessary tools that assist their psychological needs. Daniel intends to complete a master’s in clinical psychology, in hopes of becoming a clinician and professor sometime in the future.
Daniel looks forward to working with the Student Division.
Ms Masoodah Mohamed

Masoodah Mohamed
Masoodah Mohamed has been appointed the position of Additional Member within PsySSA Student Division for the upcoming tenure. She is a speech therapist and audiologist who graduated from the University of Witwatersrand. She is completing her honours in psychology in preparation for the Clinical Psychology programme.
She believes poetry can be used as a decolonial and therapeutic tool and uses her work to advocate for social justice, mental health, and gender-based violence. Her work has been published in Kalahari Review, Odd Magazine, Second skin magazine, Decolonial Passage, and featured in Yesterdays and Imagining Realities: An Anthology of South African Poetry, appears in The National Poet Laureate Hub.
