We need your help!
The Psychological Society of South Africa Student Division (PsySSA SD) Community Development portfolio aims to provide students with volunteer opportunities and opportunities to serve a community in need in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
By facilitating community engagement, the PsySSA SD aims to inspire students to one day become professionals who give back to the community and are passionate about service to the poor and vulnerable. Identifying one such need within the community where Psychology students can make a difference, is that of the elderly.
Following the success of the Dignity Campaign in 2019, the PsySSA SD wishes to run this campaign again in 2022 with the hope of helping even more elderly people in need.
This campaign focuses on the needs of an assisted living facility and seeks to provide a deserving frail care center with adult diapers as well as
toiletries such as wet wipes and petroleum jelly.
In addition to this, the PsySSA SD Community Development portfolio aims to collect essential food items such as cooking oil, cereals, teabags, coffee, and sugar.
All monetary donations will be put towards the buying of the listed items, that will certainly make a difference in the lives of the elderly members of our community.
You are also welcome to get in contact with us directly if you have any physical donations within the KwaZulu-Natal province and within the Durban area.
A handover with all donations collected will be held in the first week of April 2022.
Your support in this campaign is valued greatly and we look forward to making a difference with your help.
Every bit counts regardless of the amount!
I would like to volunteer in your organisation, however I can’t find the application form on your website.
